About
About Fleetier
Fleetier publishes practical guides to fleet maintenance and DOT compliance for small and mid-size US fleets: the people who keep trucks, vans and equipment safe, legal and earning.
Who publishes it
Fleetier is published by Cargovate LLC, a Vexidus Corporation company. Cargovate builds a supply chain and asset lifecycle platform. Its fleet maintenance module schedules service by mileage, engine hours or date, records daily checks and defects, and keeps each vehicle's repair history in one place.
Who the guides are for
Owner-operators who have just added a second truck, maintenance managers running a few dozen units, safety managers preparing for an audit, and operations staff who inherited the fleet file and want to know what should be in it. The guides assume you know your vehicles; they explain the rules and the record-keeping around them.
How the guides are written
- Rules come from the regulation itself. Where a guide states a requirement, it names the section of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (49 CFR) or the agreement it comes from, and links to the official text, so you can read the exact words.
- Practice is labeled as practice. Advice that goes beyond the minimum, such as service intervals or how to file a warranty claim, is presented as common practice, not as a legal requirement.
- The methods work in any system. A paper file, a spreadsheet or maintenance software can all meet the rules. Where our own product is relevant, we name it, link to it, and say only what it does.
- Guides are dated. The date at the foot of each guide shows when it was last checked against the sources.
What the guides are not
They are general information, not legal advice. Which rules apply depends on your vehicles' weight ratings, what you carry, whether you operate across state lines, and your state's own rules, which can be stricter than the federal ones. When a decision matters, read the regulation, ask your state's enforcement agency, or talk to a transportation attorney.
Contact and corrections
Found an error or a rule that has changed? Corrections and questions go through Cargovate's contact page. We would rather fix a page than leave a reader with the wrong rule.
